Each circular medallion is individually pieced with slender red rays radiating from a cream center, surrounded by green and a charming brown-on-cream period print. The early fabrics, fugitive green, hand construction and overall palette are all consistent with a late-19th to very early-20th-century quilt. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnd the quilting is beautiful. ❤️ The entire piece is hand pieced and densely hand quilted, with especially lovely decorative quilting through the borders and green blocks. Be sure to look at the reverse - the white backing really showcases the intricate hand quilting and the tremendous amount of work that went into this quilt. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt remains in very nice antique condition. There are no rips, tears or stains to the front. The front shows some color loss\/variation and color migration in the green fabric throughout, along with just a few very faint age spots as photographed. The reverse shows small scattered age spots and two small spots that appears to be old paint. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eA beautiful early quilt with wonderful graphic impact and exceptional hand quilting.
