Beautiful antique hand-pieced and hand-quilted Compass Star quilt, dating to 1880–1910. Featuring repeating circular star blocks in rich mustard, indigo blue, madder red, and brown prints, framed by blue patterned sashing with rust-colored cornerstones.
The quilt features intricate hand quilting throughout, including lovely circular and decorative motifs. Its generous size and wonderful early fabrics make it a striking example of antique American quiltmaking.
Good antique condition with age-related wear, including scattered age spots and discoloration on the front and backing and some fraying along the binding. A few darker stains are present on the reverse. The quilt remains beautifully intact overall and displays wonderfully.
