Beautiful antique hand-pieced and hand-quilted quilt featuring a charming variation of the traditional Churn Dash pattern, arranged in alternating colors and fabrics. Dating to c1880–1910, this quilt showcases the intricate handiwork of its quilter - beautifully executed at 10-12 stitches per inch. It has a charming assortment of early calico prints, plaids, and shirtings in soft reds, blues, browns, and creams.
Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear, including scattered fabric thinning and deterioration, small areas of separation, a small opening in the muslin backing, minor staining, and wear along portions of the binding. Some early printed fabrics exhibit more pronounced deterioration. The quilt retains its beautiful overall presentation and exceptional hand-quilted texture.
