A beautiful antique Feathered Star quilt featuring an intricate arrangement of sixteen striking star blocks in rich burgundy, deep red, faded blue, and soft gray against a charming blue-and-white printed cotton ground.

Dating to c1880–1900, this wonderful quilt showcases the exceptional craftsmanship and intricate piecing associated with late 19th-century American quiltmaking. Entirely hand quilted, the quilt features closely spaced stitching throughout, giving it wonderful texture and character. The reverse is especially charming, constructed from multiple sections of antique blue-and-white striped and checked cotton fabrics.

📏 62” × 80”

Good antique condition with wear consistent with age and use. The quilt displays scattered age discoloration, fading, and areas of fabric wear. There are several small areas of separation and fraying along the pieced seams, including a more noticeable opening in one of the pale blue printed fabrics, as photographed. Some of the burgundy and red fabrics exhibit surface wear, and there are minor areas of loose stitching. The backing shows expected age-related discoloration and wear. Despite these imperfections, the quilt retains its striking design, wonderful antique character, and overall visual appeal. Please review all photographs carefully as part of the condition description.

A lovely surviving example of traditional American quiltmaking, with beautifully detailed piecing, rich early fabrics, and wonderful country charm.

As with all antique textiles, this quilt is offered in found condition, with imperfections that reflect its history and age.
