A beautiful antique Baptiste Fan quilt featuring a wonderful assortment of colorful vintage cotton fabrics, framed by deep navy blue sashing and vibrant red cornerstones. Dating to approximately the 1930s–1940s, this charming quilt showcases an eclectic mix of florals, ginghams, stripes, polka dots, and feedsack-style prints.
The quilt features 30 individually pieced blocks arranged in six rows of five, with beautiful hand quilting throughout, including curved and fan-like stitching. A soft white cotton backing and white binding complete this wonderful example of American quiltmaking.
📏 70” × 85”.
Good antique condition with expected age-related wear. A small area of fabric separation is present near the binding, along with scattered discoloration and a narrow brownish stain on the white backing, as photographed. The colorful patchwork retains wonderful visual appeal, and the quilt displays beautifully.
A fabulous piece of American textile folk art, perfect for an antique bed, draped over a cupboard, or displayed as part of a collection of country textiles.
