A wonderfully unusual antique commercial bread advertising display stand, dating to the early 20th century, c1920–1940. This distinctive piece of early general store advertising features a fabulous sculptural design, rich deep oxblood red paint, and surviving gold advertising lettering around its circular base.

Originally created as a commercial merchandising display for bread, the stand features a tall central wooden post supporting an elevated circular platform, with two additional round display shelves extending outward on either side. The unusual three-tiered arrangement creates a striking silhouette and offers a wonderful glimpse into early American retail advertising.

An exceptional piece of early advertising and general store memorabilia, this stand is as decorative as it is functional. Perfect for displaying antique stoneware, small baskets, or pottery. Its unusual form and wonderful old red surface make it a standout addition to any collection of early Americana.

📏 25 1/2” wide x  26” tall x10 1/2” deep at the base

Good antique condition with desirable age-related wear and patina. The deep red painted surface retains wonderful character, with scattered scratches, rubs, small chips, and areas of paint loss consistent with age and commercial use. The original advertising lettering remains partially visible around the circular base. An age-related split is present in the wooden base, along with scattered surface imperfections and minor wear to the edges of the display platforms. This stand displays beautifully.

A scarce and wonderfully distinctive example of early commercial advertising, combining folk art appeal, old painted surfaces, and an unusual architectural form. A fabulous statement piece for collectors of country antiques, primitive furnishings, and general store memorabilia.
