Wonderful dated 1941 American patriotic quilt featuring 20 striking red, white and blue pieced star motifs against a white ground, framed by coordinating red and navy borders and striped binding.
Beautifully hand quilted throughout and embroidered near the center “STARS OF STRIPES 1941.” Made in the year the US entered World War II, its patriotic colors and imagery give it wonderful historical character.
Measuring a generous 71” × 86”, the quilt remains in very good vintage condition with no rips, tears or significant stains. There are several small, faint age spots to the front and approximately 8–10 scattered age spots on the reverse, as photographed. The red and deep navy fabrics remain wonderfully vibrant!
A beautiful and highly displayable piece of American textile history with a particularly bold graphic design and wonderful patriotic appeal.
