A wonderful Scrappy Star quilt, featuring large pieced stars made from an incredible assortment of early shirtings, plaids, checks, stripes and prints. The stars are set against that striking deep red, with black sashing and little pink cornerstones.
Dating to the early 1900s, this quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with machine-stitched binding along the edges. It measures 63x83” and show kay stains or tears to the front. There is some age spotting to the muted pink reverse.
