A little treasure with wonderful autumn colors. 🤎 This turned wooden sugar bowl features a rounded body, flared foot, and fitted lid with a charming turned finial. Mustard-yellow leaf decoration with dark veining wraps around a warm reddish-brown ground, with decoration continuing across the lid.
Estimated to date to the mid-19th century, based on its form and decorative style.
Surface wear and scattered paint loss lend lovely character. There is a visible crack across the lid, shown from above and underneath in the photographs. Please review all photos for condition details.
Measures 3 3/4” in diameter x 4” tall
A beautiful addition to a collection of early treen and painted country woodenware.
