Two little treasures, offered together. š¤ This charming pair of miniature pantry boxes features warm honey-brown wood, tapered overlapping finger joints, and dark metal fasteners. Both retain their fitted lift-off lids and look lovely stacked.
Estimated mid-to-late 19th century, c1850ā1890, based on their construction and form.
Both show surface scratches, rubbing, and age darkening. The smaller box has some splitting and chipped loss around the lid band and upper edge, as photographed. A lovely pair for a cupboard shelf or collection of early woodenware.
