Beautiful antique hand-pieced and hand-quilted quilt featuring colorful Sawtooth-style star blocks with hourglass centers, alternating with large diagonal blue and cream blocks. A wonderful assortment of early indigo blue, madder red, shirting stripes, checks, and calico prints creates a striking geometric design.
Dating to c1880–1910, this quilt features lovely hand quilting throughout, with wonderful texture and authentic antique character.
Good antique condition with age-related wear, including minor fabric thinning, one small area where the blue has worn to the batting, minir seam wear, and gentle fading. Some of the blocks appear to have mended or repaired at some time. The colors remain vibrant overall, and the quilt displays beautifully. Please review photographs for condition details.
