Vintage Hooked Rug with Dog and Roses, c1920–1940

Puppies and roses - such a sweet combination! 🤎 🐶 This vintage hooked rug features a brown-and-white pup surrounded by rosy red flowers and soft green foliage, framed by an oval medallion, decorative scrollwork, and a rich navy border.

Estimated early-to-mid 20th century, c1920–1940.

Condition shows scattered wear and missing loops, with several areas of loss along the borders exposing the foundation. One larger worn area near the edge has fraying and deterioration to the foundation, as shown in the close-up. The fabric binding shows wear, and the burlap backing has age discoloration and spotting.

A charming textile for gentle decorative display, with plenty of personality.
