A wonderfully colorful vintage Scrappy Railroad Quilt. Dating to c1930–1940, this charming quilt features the traditional Railroad or String Pieced pattern, with diagonal strips of assorted fabrics carefully assembled into individual square blocks. Hand quilting throughout adds lovely texture and dimension, with rows of stitching running diagonally across the individual blocks. The quilt is finished with a simple light-colored binding and a traditional natural muslin reverse, which beautifully displays the hand quilting.
