A wonderful vintage String Quilt featuring an extraordinary assortment of colorful Depression-era cotton prints, beautifully arranged in an eye-catching patchwork design.
Dating to the 1930s-1940s, this charming quilt features a variation of the traditional Crazy Quilt or String Pieced pattern, with irregular strips and geometric pieces of fabric assembled into larger blocks. The reverse features a charming green and white checked cotton fabric, giving this quilt an entirely different look when turned over.
Hand quilting throughout adds wonderful texture and character, with visible stitching following the patchwork and extending across the backing.

Good vintage condition with age-related wear and imperfections. The quilt exhibits scattered discoloration and spotting, including several small brown spots on the green checked backing and a more pronounced brown stain along one section of the blue floral fabric near the edge. There is some fading and wear to the assorted vintage fabrics, with minor areas of thinning and surface wear consistent with age and use. The hand quilting remains visible throughout, and the quilt retains its wonderful character and visual appeal.
As with all vintage textiles, this quilt is offered in found condition, with imperfections that reflect its history and age.
